Our work

MadeByPi has the X Factor [Dec 09]

We've put the X Factor winner's website - Joe McElderry - live for Sony Music.

For the second year running we've worked hard behind the scenes to create websites for all three X Factor finalists. This year, websites were created for Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry, and Olly Murs in advance of the final night. The winning site went live as soon as the announcement was made on the popular ITV show. It features up-to-the-minute content on Joe McElderry, his debut single ‘The Climb',  tour dates, news, forums and forthcoming album releases.

Dan Ayers, Sony Music's director of digital services said: "Building the winner's site is always a time-pressured process. Effectively we have the week before the final to build three sites, all with robust community functionality considered as standard. Over the past two years with MadeByPi we've got it down to a pretty smooth art. It's the digital equivalent of having a man in the CD manufacturing plant standing by a big red button, ready to start production late on a Sunday night when the winner is crowned."

Chris Hemingway, Creative Partner at MadeByPi said: "We are delighted to be working with Sony Music again on the X Factor phenomenon. To be part of one of the most exciting, digital entertainment projects around is fantastic. Its time-critical nature certainly tests the nerves, but the team rose to the challenge, amidst all the excitement and anticipation of the night."
