Spectrobes Digathon [Jan 09]
Spectrobes Beyond the Portals is a new action adventure game by Disney Interactive Studios, the second instalment in the Spectrobes series. We devised an innovative site that communicates key features of the game to the audience of boys and girls aged 8-14. The result is an immersive, brand-building experience that delivers on raising awareness, supports PR and provides more info about Spectrobes to kids.
The Digathon concept of the site has evolved from the enhanced search and excavation feature to be found in the new game. At certain points within the landscapes users will be prompted to dig (by clicking on an area with their mouse). The digging mimics the excavation features of the game through different surfaces (ice, sand etc.) By digging the user reveals information about the game, characters and the Spectrobes worlds. The site encourages repeat visits and drives registration with Disney Interactive Studios - with the ultimate goal of driving Spectrobes game purchases.
